To Whom It May Concern,

As several provinces of Thailand have been affected by a severe flood which has become the cause of a massive flooding to Thailand’s capital and has created uncertainty among travellers in Suvarnabhumi Airport’s operation.

On behalf of Suvarnabhumi Airport by Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, we would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm you that Suvarnabhumi Airport has been fully functioning for all airlines, passengers and cargo as usual (please find the details attached). We are full of confidence that Suvarnabhumi Airport will definitely be safe from this flood because of its efficient flood protection system consisting of a clay dyke and a high standard drainage system. The base of the mentioned clay dyke surrounding the airport is 37 meters wide, 23.5 kilometers long, 3.5 meters high above mean sea level. The clay dyke construction started in the year 1995 and completed in the year 2000, which has made them very stable           and strong for preventing the penetration of water. While our high standard        drainage system consists of reservoirs which has capacity to store 4 million cubic meters (m3) of water and 2 pumping stations with ability to drain water out at a rate of 1 million m3 per day.

Besides our flood protection system, Suvarnabhumi Airport has been designed with utilities systems, for example, the waste water treatment system which is a closed circulation system, therefore no water from the outside area of Suvarnabhumi airport can penetrate through these systems.

Lastly, we would like to inform you that all passengers may use Suvarnabhumi Airport conveniently as well as travelling to other tourist destinations within Thailand that do not affected by flood. Should you require further information, please contact our call center at +66-2132-1888 at any time or visiting our website www.suvarnabhumiairport.com.

Your kind support in releasing the above-mentioned information to the involved parties would be highly appreciated.

                                                                        Yours sincerely,
